Electricity distributors demand justice for brutalised IKEDC workers, journalists

The Nigerian Electricity Distributors Association has called for the Nigerian Air Force, military, and presidency to identify and take action against the officers and men from the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base who attacked staff and journalists at Ikeja Electric. The association stated their determination to seek justice for those who were assaulted at the IKEDC headquarters in Lagos. Despite a promise of investigation by Air Vice Marshall AK Ademulegun, the Executive Director of the Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors expressed skepticism regarding his knowledge of the attack.

The association spokesperson highlighted the substantial debt owed by the Ikeja Air Force Base and demanded accountability for the violent incident. Drawing parallels to a coup, he urged political leaders to address the matter seriously and ensure the safety of citizens. Stressing the importance of good governance, he emphasized the need for transparency and justice in handling the assault. The association vowed to persist until the perpetrators are identified, held accountable, and restitution is made for the damages caused during the invasion.
