The manager of Atalanta, Gian Piero Gasperini, has commended the Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman for his significant contributions to the team’s success.
After Atalanta’s important win against Juventus, Gasperini praised Lookman’s impact on the team and announced that he would be the captain for the rest of the season.
Gasperini mentioned in a post-match press conference that Lookman had evolved into a fantastic player by understanding the team dynamics better. Previously, Lookman had a more individualistic approach, but he has now embraced the team ethos, which has greatly benefited both him and the club. Gasperini expressed his belief that Lookman could lead as captain before the season concludes.
Lookman’s role in Atalanta’s season has been crucial, with standout performances that have improved the team’s position in Serie A.
His consistent form has been acknowledged by Gasperini, who has entrusted him with the captain’s armband until the end of the season to underscore his importance to the squad.
In February, Gasperini and Lookman had a disagreement following Lookman’s missed penalty in a Champions League match against Club Brugge.
