Kebbi seeks soldiers deployment over Lakurawa attack

In response to a recent terrorist attack in Birnin Dede, Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State, the state government has called for the urgent deployment of troops to the affected area. The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, mentioned that a high-level security meeting was held to address the escalating insecurity in the region. The government aims to restore peace and stability by taking necessary security measures.

Residents of Arewa Local Government expressed concerns over the security situation following the attack, with some describing their fear and anxiety. They urged the government to swiftly deploy security forces to prevent further incidents and protect the community. The Kebbi State Police Command also announced the immediate deployment of a tactical team to the community in response to the attack. The Commissioner of Police mobilized security personnel to assess the situation and reinforce security efforts. In a separate incident, the Special Military Task Force in Plateau State successfully rescued seven kidnapped victims in the Riyom Local Government Area. The operation under Operation Safe Haven led to the rescue of the victims and the recovery of abandoned belongings. The rescued individuals were debriefed to gather intelligence for further military operations against criminal elements in the area.
