The incident occurred when the officer, stationed at Metumbi Police Station, consumed excessive alcohol, grabbed his rifle, and indiscriminately fired shots, fatally hitting a resident named Sani in the Angwan-Kaje area of Chanchaga Local Government Area. Another individual, known as Mai Shayi, narrowly escaped being shot. The eyewitness account revealed that the officer unlawfully shot Sani while he was sleeping and attempted to shoot Mai Shayi, who managed to flee.
