Police hunt drunken officer for killing Niger resident

The Commissioner of Police in Niger State has ordered an investigation to identify and apprehend a police officer who, while intoxicated, went on a shooting spree resulting in the death of a resident. The incident occurred when the officer, stationed at Metumbi Police Station, consumed excessive alcohol, grabbed his rifle, and indiscriminately fired shots, fatally hitting a resident named Sani in the Angwan-Kaje area of Chanchaga Local Government Area. Another individual, known as Mai Shayi, narrowly escaped being shot. The eyewitness account revealed that the officer unlawfully shot Sani while he was sleeping and attempted to shoot Mai Shayi, who managed to flee. The police spokesperson confirmed the incident and assured that the culprits would face the consequences as directed by the Commissioner of Police.
