Police foil kidnap attempt, rescue 30 Katsina residents

In a remarkable operation in the Faskari Local Government Area, the Katsina State Police Command successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt and rescued 30 residents from the Unguwar Sarkin Fulani Dutsen Dadi community. The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, announced this significant achievement, attributing it to the dedicated efforts of the police force under Commissioner Aliyu Musa’s leadership.

On March 12, 2025, armed bandits launched an attack on the community, kidnapping 30 individuals and stealing livestock. Promptly responding to the distress call, the Faskari Divisional Police mobilized a team to the scene. Through a well-executed operation, the police engaged the bandits in a gun battle, resulting in the rescue of all kidnapped victims and the recovery of the stolen animals. Some of the criminals sustained injuries and fled the scene.

The police are actively pursuing the fleeing suspects as investigations continue. Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, praised the officers for their courage and professionalism during the rescue mission. He urged the residents to support law enforcement by providing timely and accurate information to combat criminal activities effectively.
