INEC compensates Bauchi election accident victim with N1.25m

The Independent National Electoral Commission has awarded a compensation package to a victim of an accident during the 2023 elections in Bauchi State.

This information was shared in an announcement on the official social media page of INEC Bauchi.

During the commission’s weekly management meeting, the compensation was presented by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmud Yakubu.

Representing Yakubu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Bauchi, Muhammad Nura, handed over a cheque of One Million, Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (₦1,250,000) as insurance cover to a Collation Officer named Adamu Yusuf from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, who sustained a fractured leg in the accident.

It was highlighted that this compensation adheres to the commission’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its personnel during elections.

The recipient, Adamu Yusuf, expressed appreciation to the commission for the assistance despite the delayed submission of his claims.
