Security operatives foil bandits’ attack in Katsina, kill one

In Katsina State, a successful operation by joint security forces thwarted a planned attack by bandits. During the operation, one suspect was neutralized. The collaborative effort involved the State Police Command, the Department of State Services, and members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps.

The operation prevented an imminent attack on Dan Takuri village in the Danmusa Local Government Area. Acting on credible intelligence, the security team led by the DPO Danmusa engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle. As a result, one bandit was eliminated, while others escaped with injuries.

Upon searching the area, the security operatives recovered items such as an AK47 rifle, ammunition, a motorcycle, wraps of suspected Indian hemp, soft drinks, a cutlass, and drugs. The Commissioner of Police commended the team for their bravery and professionalism, emphasizing the commitment to safeguarding the lives and properties of the people in Katsina.

Residents were encouraged to continue providing vital information to aid in combating criminal activities in the state.
