The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission recently apprehended 21 suspected internet fraudsters in Bauchi State. The operation was carried out by the commission’s Gombe Zonal Directorate after receiving credible intelligence on the suspects’ involvement in cybercrime. The suspects were arrested at Kaure New Government Reservation Area and Awala, Maiduguri Road in Bauchi. Various luxury items such as a BMW car, a Toyota Camry, and other valuables were recovered during the raid. The EFCC stated that the suspects will face prosecution once investigations are completed. Items seized from the suspects included cars, gaming consoles, expensive phones, a television set, Point of Sale machines, iPads, and laptops.
