Court rejects EFCC’s evidence in Arik, ex-AMCON boss case

The Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja declined a document presented by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission during the trial of a former managing director of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria and four others. The EFCC accused the individuals of defrauding Arik Air of a substantial amount. Justice Mojisola Dada ruled against the document’s admissibility due to lack of proper certification and the witness not being part of the investigating team. Another witness from Union Bank provided details of transactions but faced objections when attempting to submit a report from a stakeholder meeting. The court ultimately rejected the document for not being properly identified. The trial was adjourned to a later date for further proceedings.
