Soludo’s wife hails Anambra girls for emerging tops at ‘Women in ICT training’

The wife of Anambra State governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has expressed deep joy over the achievements of the girls who represented the state at the 2025 “Women in ICT training organised by the National Information Technology Development Agency in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Initiative.

Soludo particularly praised Vivian Ebisi, one of the state’s participants who emerged “Best Candidate for the South-East Zone” at the 2025 Women in ICT Training and Empowerment Programme held in Abuja.

In a press statement released on Friday, the Anambra first lady, who is also the founder of the “HealthyLivingWithNonyeSoludo”, thanked Ebisi and other ladies for their remarkable achievements during the training phase of the programme.

She said the programme has offered the girls an inspiring platform to learn and prepare better for the future.

The programme was powered by the National Information Technology Development Agency in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Initiative and provided young Nigerian women with an inspiring platform to acquire digital skills and better prepare for the future.

The statement read in part, “Today, at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Women in ICT Training and Empowerment Programme in Abuja, Anambra was, once again, in the limelight.

“Our own Vivian Ebisi, one of the eight incredible ladies who represented Anambra State in the training phase of the programme, won the Best Candidate from the South East Zone.

“The amazing opportunity which was provided by the National Information Technology Development Agency in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Initiative has, of course, offered our girls an inspiring platform to learn and prepare better for the future before them.

“I am super proud of my girls and the great efforts they have invested in the whole exercise. Most especially, I deeply appreciate the First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of RHI, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, whose strategic partnership with NITDA and passion for the growth and development of women and girls have made this great opportunity possible.”

Online had, in October 2025, reported that Nonye Soludo commended the schools in the state for winning nine awards at the 2025 President and Schools Excellence Award as part of activities marking World Teachers’ Day.

The event held at Eagle Square, Abuja, on Sunday, saw Woliwo Primary School II, Onitsha, winning the award for the “Overall best school in Nigeria” and going home with the star prize of a 16-seater bus.

Among the other awardees is Pinkberry International School in Odume Obosi, which received the award as the first runner-up, the best approved private primary school in Nigeria.

Emmanuel Ndibe of St. Theresa’s Secondary School, Enugwu Ukwu, won the first runner-up for best approved private senior secondary school teacher in Nigeria, while Nkechi Ikedi of Pinkbery International Primary School, Odume Obosi, won the first runner-up, best approved private primary school teacher in Nigeria.

Amaka Ubaka of Prince Memorial Secondary School, Onitsha, won the first runner-up, best public senior secondary school Administrator in Nigeria.

Reacting to the development in a press statement released on Monday, the Anambra first lady described the awards as “historic”, adding that the achievements represent the fruits of investments in Anambra State’s education sector.

Soludo said the 2025 budget dedicated 101 per cent of the spending to the education sector alone, representing the largest budgetary allocation in terms of sectoral breakdown.
