President Bola Tinubu on Friday attended the wedding Fātiḥah of the children of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.
The ceremony, held at the National Mosque in Abuja, saw the President leading a high-powered delegation of Nigeria’s top political elite to honour the Minister’s family.
Tinubu’s aide, Dada Olusegun, disclosed this in a video shared on X on Friday.
The caption read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today graced the wedding fātiḥah of the children of the Minister of State for Defence, held at the National Mosque in Abuja.”
Other dignitaries who attended the event include the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.); the Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf; the Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu; and the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, among others.
reports that the scale of the event had been a point of public interest since January, when the invitation cards for the ceremony of Matawalle’s nine children first went viral.
His children celebrated in this historic mass wedding include Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muh’d, Nana Firdausi, and Farida.
