Folashade Okoya turns 49, celebrates daughter’s engagement

In what can best be described as a celebration marked by grace and gratitude, the household of industrialist and founder of the Eleganza conglomerate, Aare Rasaki Okoya, is aglow with double joy this weekend as his wife, Folashade, marks her 49th birthday.

The celebration comes at a symbolic moment for the family, as the Managing Director of Eleganza Industrial City Limited also shares in the joy of her first daughter’s engagement, creating what close associates describe as a rare alignment of milestones filled with prayers, appreciation, and hope.

Close friends and family say the atmosphere is warm and reflective, with gatherings marked by thanksgiving and anticipation for the future as preparations begin for the engagement ceremony of their daughter, Olamide. She is set to get married to Imran Gobir, the son of the late Ambassador Abubakar Gobir.

The formal introduction into her marital journey took place Saturday, April 25, 2026, coinciding with her mother’s birthday. The engagement ceremony is expected to be attended by close family members and selected friends.

Olamide, the first of four children born to Rasaki and Folashade, is widely described within society circles as a humble, soft-spoken, and deeply religious young woman.

Many observers have described the moment as a symbolic “payback time” for the matriarch, who is known for her unwavering support for family and friends over the years.

As family members gathered to celebrate the matriarch’s birthday, attention also turned to the joyful news of Olamide’s engagement; a development warmly received by both immediate family and their wider circle of friends and well-wishers.

Aare Okoya, visibly delighted, described the engagement as the most meaningful birthday gift his wife could receive.

In a message to his wife, he said, “Happy birthday, my darling wife. Wishing you long life, good health, and continued happiness. There could be no greater gift on this special day than the engagement of our beloved daughter. We pray that their union is blessed with love, peace, and prosperity. May Allah grant them a joyful and lasting marriage. God bless us all.”
