Izuchukwu Ahuruonye, the winner of the All Progressives Congress House of Assembly primaries for Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State in the just-concluded primary elections, has pledged quality representation of his people.
He outlined his motivation for joining the race and his plans to deliver effective representation at the House of Assembly on Monday, adding that he will adopt a community-based approach in his legislative duties if eventually elected.
He said, “I expressed my gratitude to the electorate and the party for giving me a chance to represent them in the incoming general elections. I am contesting to represent my people in the House of Assembly because I have all it takes to offer the people a special kind of representation in the Assembly that will impact their lives positively.
“I am contesting this election to touch lives. I am contesting to liberate my people. My law-making will be rooted in accountability and transparency. I will perfectly manage the resources of my constituency, if elected. I want to liberate my people.”
The event saw a large crowd of voters, including party members, agents, stakeholders and supporters converging at Asa South Ward.
The primaries for the House of Assembly saw candidates emerged from the other local government areas of the state in what was mostly adjudged peaceful.
