Swedish club AIK have announced that they have initiated negotiations for the sale of Nigeria’s rising star, Zadok Yohanna and are eyeing a profit of over 130,000 kSEK (about €12,000), after just over a year at the club, Sports Extra reports.
The 18-year-old joined AIK last summer from Ikon Allah FC of Kaduna on a four-and-a-half-year deal and has impressed since breaking into the first team this season, registering two goals and two assists in seven appearances.
Recent reports have linked the player with a major summer move to top clubs in Europe, and the club has now confirmed it has begun the process of a potential sale.
“AIK Fotboll has initiated negotiations for a sale of player Zadok Yohanna. Current bids indicate a net profit effect higher than Class VIII (i.e. over 130,000 kSEK),” the club said in a statement on Sunday.
“AIK Fotboll AB has introduced a classification of player transfers based on net profit for each transfer, according to a system in six levels that includes overall performance effects from 0 to 70,000 kSEK. AIK Fotboll AB has decided to extend the classification into two additional levels: Class VII (70,000–100,000 kSEK) and Class VIII (100,000–130,000 kSEK).”
In the classification provided by the club, the expected profit margin from Yohanna’s potential sale falls within the highest tier, making him one of their most valuable assets.
“The amounts in the scale relate to the profit effect net of a player sale in accordance with UEFA’s definition of the performance measure ‘Player Trading’, i.e. revenue from player sales less agent fees, other selling expenses, any compensation to previous clubs, and the book value of the player at the time of the sale,” the club added.
Although they did not disclose the club they are negotiating with, AIK noted that they will issue an official announcement if an agreement is reached.
Amid the transfer speculation and recovery from an injury, the club recently blocked the player from teaming up with Nigeria for the Unity Cup in London.
Yohanna has been linked with English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur and French club Rennes.
He made his debut on August 17, 2025, coming on as an 89th-minute substitute against IFK Göteborg at Gamla Ullevi in a 2–1 defeat. Three days later, he made his first start, playing the full match in a Svenska Cupen qualifying fixture against Hudiksvalls FF, which AIK won 7–0.
On March 9, 2026, Yohanna scored his first two goals for AIK in a 4–0 win over BK Häcken at Strawberry Arena, securing qualification for the Swedish Cup quarter-finals. He maintained his scoring form in the quarter-final against GAIS, netting one of AIK’s goals, although the team lost 3–2 and exited the competition.
On April 5, 2026, Yohanna scored his first league goal, announcing himself in the Allsvenskan during AIK’s opening game of the season at Strawberry Arena.
