An Accounting graduate of the University of Uyo, Imikan Inyang, better known on TikTok as Backhat Dude, has captivated millions with videos featuring his primary school pupils at his place of primary assignment in Ekiti.
What started as a simple classroom video has become one of the most wholesome success stories on Nigerian TikTok, transforming an NYSC member and his pupils into social media stars.
Since uploading his first video with the children on February 17, 2026, Inyang has steadily built a loyal online community through light-hearted classroom moments, dance challenges and interactions that showcase the pupils’ confidence and personalities.

His breakthrough came after a video of him and his pupils went viral, prompting him to create more content with the children outside classroom hours.
Speaking about balancing content creation with teaching, the corps member stressed that academics remain his priority.
“After school… their education comes first.”
The videos often show the pupils, dressed in their school uniforms, enthusiastically lining up before the camera to participate in trending TikTok challenges alongside their teacher.
Among the trends they have joined are Blaqbonez and Asake’s “Channel” challenge and Qing Madi’s “Come Slide” challenge.
Their version of the “Come Slide” dance became so popular that Qing Madi herself reacted, joking,“Make una beg Dolapo to give me my song back.”
Meet Dolapo, the breakout star

While every child in the videos has developed a fan base, one pupil has emerged as the standout personality.
Dolapo Ezieke has become the face of the group, winning hearts with her confidence, intelligence and expressive personality.
Her popularity has grown beyond the classroom, leading to the creation of her own TikTok account, which is managed by her mother.

The page has already amassed nearly 50,000 followers, with fans eagerly following her activities beyond the classroom videos.
Another pupil, Priscilla Morris, is also attracting attention online. Her TikTok page, also managed by her mother, has continued to gain followers as viewers become more familiar with the children featured in the viral clips.

Beyond trending challenges, Inyang’s content offers glimpses into everyday school life.
In one memorable video, the pupils hilariously taught him Yoruba words and expressions.
He has also shared random moments from his place of primary assignment, allowing followers to see the bond he has built with the children.
During the school holidays, he posted a touching video of Dolapo sending him a heartfelt message, further strengthening the emotional connection many followers now have with the pupils.
As Inyang prepares to complete his National Youth Service in August, many followers have expressed concern about what will happen when he leaves the school.
For many Nigerians, the videos have become more than entertainment.
They are seen as a refreshing example of how teachers can positively connect with pupils, encourage confidence and create lasting memories while ensuring education remains the priority.
