Prominent Christian leaders from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, the Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter, and gospel ministers will converge on Ibadan for a five-day spiritual mega crusade beginning on Wednesday.
The President of For His Glory Evangelistic Ministries, Rob Welch, announced this during a press briefing held at Men of Issachar Vision, Olororo, Ojoo, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday.
The programme is being organised by the ministry in conjunction with churches across Ibadanland.
Welch said the crusade was aimed at providing an opportunity for spiritual renewal and strengthening the Christian faith through evangelism, worship and prayer.
Speaking on the theme, “Jesus Ibadan City Mega Crusade,” he said prominent Christian leaders expected at the event included the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Archbishop Wale Oke; the PFN National Vice-President, South-West, Bishop Taiwo Adelakun; the Chairman of CAN in Oyo State, Rev. Elisha Ogundiya; and the state PFN Chairman, Rev. Samson Ajetomobi.
“Our desire is to see lives transformed through the message of Jesus Christ. This gathering is not simply about bringing people together for a religious programme; it is about creating an atmosphere where people can encounter God, renew their faith and experience spiritual transformation.
“The crusade seeks to draw participants from across the country to the Oyo State capital,” he said.
He added that the ministry was committed to taking the gospel beyond church walls and reaching people from different backgrounds with the message of hope and salvation.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Central Working Committee of the Jesus Ibadan City Mega Crusade, Pastor Obafemi Olofin, said arrangements were being made to ensure the smooth coordination of the five-day programme.
“We are working towards ensuring that everything required for a successful crusade is put in place. Our expectation is that people from different parts of Ibadan, Oyo State and beyond will participate in the programme and that the gathering will achieve its spiritual objectives,” he said.
The Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the crusade, Apostle Sunday Popoola, was also present at the press conference.
The programme, scheduled to hold at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan, will also feature musical performances by gospel artistes, including Lilian Nneji, Esther Igbekele, Pelumi Deborah, Bois Olorun and The Dentons.
