The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives made a public statement regarding the future governance of Abia State. He expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would be the party to produce the next governor of the state, emphasizing the contributions of President Bola Tinubu. The Deputy Speaker cited the need for APC governance in Abia State and stated that the era of Labour Party governors in the state was coming to an end.
He mentioned that despite working well with others, he could not hold a high position in the government while his state was governed by a different party. The Deputy Speaker asserted that the upcoming 2027 election would see the APC taking charge in determining the next governor of Abia State.
The current governor, who emerged from the Labour Party in the last election, was acknowledged for his performance. However, the Deputy Speaker emphasized the readiness of the APC to lead Abia State and leverage the power of the central government for development.
