The police in Kaduna State recently made significant arrests in their efforts to combat crime. Two gunrunners, Abulaziz Habibu and Nuhu Thomas, were apprehended by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for possessing a fabricated AK-47 rifle and supplying weapons to bandits in Zaria. Another individual, Abubakar Yahuza, was also arrested for acting as an informant for kidnappers in Kagarko LGA. In a separate incident, the police successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt in Kuriga village, rescuing two farmers from the clutches of bandits. The Commissioner of Police, Audu Dabigi, commended the officers for their bravery and encouraged the public to continue providing valuable information to aid in the fight against crime. The suspects admitted to their involvement in illegal arms trading and assisting kidnappers, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced in maintaining security in the region.
