The head of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, offered commendations to Obi (Prof) Epiphany Azinge on his appointment as the Asagba of Asaba in Delta State. Ebie encouraged Azinge to utilize his extensive experience for the advancement of Asaba during his reign.
Ebie’s sentiments were conveyed through a personal statement on August 19, 2024, shared with journalists in Delta. He expressed confidence that Azinge’s selection would bring progress to Asaba, a significant kingdom and the capital of Delta State.
In the statement, Ebie highlighted Azinge’s distinguished career as a legal practitioner and academician, praising his significant contributions to the legal field. Ebie recalled being a student of Azinge at the University of Benin and emphasized Azinge’s scholarly prowess and strategic thinking.
Ebie also noted Azinge’s previous roles as a Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education and Secretary to the State Government. He urged Azinge to leverage his leadership experience in his new role as the 14th Asagba of Asaba, emphasizing the potential benefits for the state and the nation.
