Chief of Defence Staff, 149 others bag NIM fellowship

The Nigerian Institute of Management Chartered recently honored Gen. Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, along with 149 other individuals, with the prestigious fellowship status. This recognition took place during the NIM 2024 Awards, Fellows and Spouses Day Luncheon held in Lagos. The theme of the event was “Integrating Sustainability into Strategic Decision Making: A Path towards Long Business Success.”

During the event, Dr. Christiana Atako, the President of NIM, emphasized that the fellowship upgrade signifies a higher responsibility and commitment to serving the institute, the management profession, and the nation. She encouraged the recipients to contribute their expertise and resources to benefit the institute and the nation.

Mrs. Hafsatu Abdu-Gusau, Business Advisor to the Chief Financial Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, delivered a keynote address urging members to consider sustainability criteria in their decision-making processes. She highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability practices into organizational processes to achieve benefits such as cost reduction, enhanced brand reputation, and regulatory compliance.

Gen. Christopher Musa commended the NIM for its efforts in promoting management expertise in the country and emphasized the importance of good management practices for national development. He called on all citizens to support the military in ensuring the nation’s security and to report any instances of poor management practices.
