Lawmaker denies involvement in kidnap, murder of Sokoto district head

A member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly representing Sabon Birni North Constituency, Aminu Boza, has denied any involvement in the recent abduction and murder of the late District Head of Gatawa, Isa Bawa. Boza refuted allegations linking him to criminal activities or connections with bandits, affirming his commitment to combatting banditry.

Boza declared that he remains steadfast in his fight against banditry, emphasizing the importance of unity to eradicate the bandits and restore peace in the community. Despite facing challenges, he expressed his determination to continue the struggle, even at the risk of his life.

In response to accusations made by the late District Head’s son, who claimed that Boza played a role in the abduction by providing information and funding to the bandits, Boza maintained his innocence. The son’s account, shared in a video while receiving medical treatment, alleged that Boza supplied weapons to the kidnappers during a campaign period.

Boza, in a widely circulated audio message, reiterated his stance against criminal activities and his unwavering dedication to combating banditry. He dismissed the allegations against him and reiterated his commitment to fighting against the bandits to achieve lasting peace in the community.
