Anambra bans parties in school facilities

The Anambra State Government has implemented a ban on social events, weddings, shows, and entertainment taking place on public school premises. This decision, aimed at safeguarding school facilities from damage, was communicated by the State’s Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, through a statement released by the Ministry of Education’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu in Awka. Chuma-Udeh emphasized that school grounds should not be utilized for commercial purposes, cautioning all principals and head teachers against such activities. Any violation of this directive will face severe consequences, as stated by the commissioner. To ensure compliance, the Chairmen of the Post Primary Schools Services Commission and the State Universal Basic Education Board have been instructed to inform all school administrators in the state about the new policy. School authorities are expected to adhere to these guidelines.
