The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has assured his dedication to facilitating the prompt resettlement of the displaced people of Okuama in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State back to their homeland.
The Okuama indigenes, who were forced to seek refuge at the Ewu-Urhobo Internally Displaced Persons Camp after their village was demolished by the Army in response to the killing of 17 military officers and soldiers on a peace mission in March 14, 2024, are receiving attention from Keyamo’s delegation.
Keyamo’s representative, Sam Onokohwomo, visited the Ewu-Urhobo IDP Camp to show solidarity with the displaced Okuama indigenes and address their displacement issues, ensuring a swift resolution.
Onokohwomo conveyed Keyamo’s assurance of a dignified and peaceful return of the Okuama people to their ancestral lands, with expedited resettlement plans already in progress.
The delegation also generously donated 100 bags of 25kg rice to support the displaced Okuama residents at the camp, bringing joy and gratitude among the recipients.
