NLC won’t be intimidated, says Ajaero after leaving police headquarters

The head of the Nigeria Labour Congress recently stated that the union will stand firm against any attempts to intimidate them, in response to his visit to the Intelligence Response Team headquarters in Abuja. He was called in by the police to address allegations including terrorism financing and cybercrime. After his meeting, he affirmed the NLC’s dedication to protecting the rights of Nigerian workers and emphasized that they have nothing to hide.

In a press briefing, he mentioned the hazards faced by labor leaders but assured that they will continue to push for workers’ rights and the implementation of the minimum wage. His appearance before the police was to maintain transparency and refute baseless accusations against him and the NLC.

Despite the challenges, he remained resolute, dismissing the allegations as an attempt to weaken the labor movement. He expressed unwavering determination to advocate for workers nationwide. The NLC president’s visit to the IRT headquarters followed an earlier invitation by the police, which he couldn’t attend previously.
