The Kano State Police Command has arrested 35 suspects in connection with various crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, theft, drug dealing, and fraud.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna, disclosed this while parading the suspects and recovered items at the police headquarters in Bompai, Kano, on Monday.
The recovered items include weapons, stolen vehicles, solar batteries, mobile phones, and counterfeit currency.
He said those apprehended include five suspected armed robbers on August 12, connected to a robbery incident at Hotoro Quarters, Kano, with a motor vehicle and locally made gun recovered.
Similarly, he said two suspected kidnappers were arrested on July 18, and the rescue of two kidnapped victims in a forest in Gubuchi Village, Makarfi LGA, Kaduna State.
He said, “Five suspected thieves were arrested on August 27, with five solar batteries recovered in Warawa LGA, Kano.
”Two mobile phone armed robbers were arrested on August 26, with a sharp knife and stolen mobile phone recovered in Dorayi Quarters, Kano.
”There was also an arrest of three suspected drug dealers on August 26, with 98 pieces of Exol tablets and a block of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp recovered in Yan-tagwage Quarters, Kano.”
Kiyawa reaffirmed the command’s commitment to fighting crime and ensuring the safety of citizens in the state.
