AFCON qualifiers: Eguavoen optimistic as Eagles camp bubbles

The interim coach of the Super Eagles, Austin Eguavoen, is positive about the team’s preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Republic of Benin and Rwanda. The team is currently in camp with 20 players gearing up for the matches.

The Nigerian national team is scheduled to play against Benin on September 7 and Rwanda three days later. Players like William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Taiwo Awoniyi, Wilfred Ndidi, and others have already joined the camp.

More players are expected to join the squad, with Kelechi Iheanacho, Maduka Okoye, and Victor Osimhen set to arrive soon. Eguavoen, confident in the team’s abilities, is optimistic about their performance in the upcoming matches.

The team had their first training session in Uyo, and Eguavoen will be supported by Fidelis Ilechukwu and Daniel Ogunmodede during the preparations.
