The Kebbi State Police Command successfully neutralized a suspected bandit and apprehended two others during an operation. The spokesperson for the command, Nafiu Abubakar, announced that three AK-47 rifles and ammunition were seized in the operation. The incident took place in Kurgeye village, Danko/Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, where armed bandits on motorcycles kidnapped two individuals. In response, a team of 36 PMF personnel and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria engaged the bandits, resulting in the death of one bandit and the recovery of weapons.
Security operatives, in collaboration with VGN members, arrested two suspects on Ribah-Kanya Road, recovering firearms and ammunition from them. The Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, commended the officers for their bravery and urged them to continue their efforts. He emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation to combat criminal activities effectively. The arrested suspects and seized items were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and legal action.
