LAGESC arrests eight for open defecation at Berger

In Berger area of Lagos State, eight individuals were recently apprehended by government authorities for openly defecating. This action follows repeated warnings issued by the state government against such unhygienic practices. The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed the arrests of the eight men in a video shared on a local platform. The arrests were made by officials of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps in response to the unsanitary conditions caused by faeces and urine defacing the area. The government had previously cleaned up the affected area and had pledged to take legal action against offenders. This incident is not isolated, as in a previous occurrence, nine individuals were also arrested for open defecation in the same location.
