Redouble your efforts, defence chief urges troops

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, has encouraged troops stationed at various front lines in the country to intensify their efforts in safeguarding the nation. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high levels of discipline and loyalty while carrying out their duties. This call to action was conveyed through a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau.

Gen. Musa urged the gallant troops to defend the country with renewed vigor and uphold the core values of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, including discipline, loyalty, and integrity. He also stressed the significance of collaboration with other security agencies to combat threats and restore peace nationwide. Additionally, he called on all Nigerians to embrace tolerance, mutual understanding, and respect for constitutional authority.

In a commendable gesture, Gen. Musa acknowledged the troops for eliminating a notorious terrorist leader, Haliru Buzu, in Zamfara. He lauded the unwavering commitment and bravery displayed by members of the Armed Forces in tackling various security challenges. Special recognition was given to the troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Zamfara for their role in neutralizing Haliru Buzu and his associates, as well as the troops of Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri for their efforts in rescuing flood victims.

The CDS also urged Nigerians to reflect on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, which promote peace, compassion, tolerance, justice, and service to humanity. These values, according to Gen. Musa, align with the noble mission of the military to protect the nation’s integrity and ensure the security and well-being of all citizens.
