Police arrest suspect who displayed gun on social media

The Katsina State Police Command recently paraded 16 suspects for various criminal activities. The suspects were apprehended for offenses ranging from armed robbery to theft. The police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed that the arrests were made in different locations and dates. One notable arrest was of a seven-man syndicate involved in armed robbery. The syndicate was intercepted while robbing a motorist and was found in possession of stolen goods.

In another incident, three suspects were caught with a locally fabricated gun, emphasizing the police force’s dedication to tackling crime. The suspects were traced following a social media post displaying one of them with the illegal weapon. Further investigation led to the recovery of the gun and ammunition. Additionally, a notorious thief was arrested, and a stolen vehicle was retrieved during a routine patrol.

Further arrests were made in connection with theft and vandalism cases, including the confiscation of stolen electric cables. A motorcycle thief was also apprehended, along with a group involved in house burglaries. The police managed to recover stolen items and identify accomplices in these crimes.

The police operation also led to the arrest of individuals in possession of stolen solar panels. The suspects were intercepted while transporting the panels to a receiver. The stolen items and the vehicle used in the transportation were confiscated as evidence.
