The Lagos State Police Command arrested three individuals in connection with the alleged defilement of a 12-year-old girl in the Ago Okota area. The stepfather of the victim, Chibuzor Benjamin, along with Emmanuel Okechukwu and Sunday Akpan, were taken into custody. The suspects were accused of engaging in unlawful acts with the minor since August 2024. Benjamin and Akpan confessed to the crime, while Okechukwu denied the allegations. They were arraigned in court for defilement.
Additionally, a 35-year-old man named Goodwin Femi was arrested for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl in the Adeba area of Ibeju Lekki. Femi reportedly threatened the victim to keep quiet about the incident or face consequences. The case was transferred to the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command, where it was reported that Femi had been forcing himself on the victim since June 2024. The victim withdrew money from her father’s account without consent, which led to the discovery of the abuse. Femi confessed to the relationship with the victim and was arraigned in court.
