A security guard, known as Uche, was tragically discovered inside a diesel tank at a telecommunications facility in Rumaholu community, Rivers State. Uche, who worked at the facility, was last seen on Saturday and was found in the tank on Monday.
Residents reported that they found Uche’s slippers near the diesel tank, with the facility’s gate left open. Speculations arose that Uche may have fallen into the tank while attempting to steal diesel, as there was no one around to help him.
According to a resident, efforts to locate Uche began when he was not seen on Sunday, leading to the discovery of his body in the tank. The family of Uche and officials from the telecommunications company have involved the police in the matter.
Attempts to contact the police spokesperson for a statement were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
