The Governor of Delta State has received a recommendation to establish an international standard Golf and Country Club in the Osubi area of Okpe Local Government Area. A well-known golfer emphasized the necessity for a new golf club in Osubi due to the disappearance of the Warri Golf Club, which fell victim to land grabbers.
The proposed Sheriff Oborevwori Golf & Country Club is envisioned to not only promote tourism but also stimulate the local economy and enrich the socio-cultural environment of Osubi. The golfer highlighted the importance of having a golf course in the region, especially after previous attempts to secure land for such a facility.
The establishment of the Sheriff Oborevwori Golf & Country Club is anticipated to bring various benefits to the area, including boosting tourism, supporting the local economy, and enhancing the cultural landscape. The golf enthusiast expressed eagerness to see the Governor participate in the inaugural Sheriff Oborevwori Classics Tournament at the new club in May 2027.
