The Chairman of Munya Local Government Area in Niger State, Aminu Najumei, shared that the council secretary, Daina Usman, who was abducted, managed to escape from the abductors. The incident occurred during a late-night attack at Usman’s residence in Sarkin Pawa, Niger State. Usman’s escape took place while the bandits were seeking a hideout, leaving behind his wife and children. The bandits then fled with the remaining hostages to Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna State. Security forces, including military personnel and local vigilantes, initiated a search-and-rescue operation to locate the abductors and ensure the victims’ safety. The Niger State Police Command spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the abduction and mentioned that efforts to rescue the other victims were ongoing.
