The government of Abia State has entered into a partnership with Radisson Blu to revamp and upgrade the Enyimba Hotel in Aba, aiming to transform it into a five-star hospitality facility. This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to enhance tourism and attract investments in the hospitality sector.
The Director General of Aba Development Authority emphasized that the project aligns with the government’s infrastructure development plan to provide top-notch accommodation for investors. The Governor of Abia State revealed that the renovation will include converting the 125-room hotel into a five-star establishment and a convention center, positioning Aba as a prominent destination in Nigeria’s hospitality industry.
The project, estimated to cost between $25m and $50m, is expected to create around 5,000 employment opportunities for the state’s residents. The state government has allocated funds in its budget to support the project’s implementation.
The Attorney General of Abia State assured a strong partnership with the hotel’s original owners to ensure the project’s success. Radisson Blu’s Senior Director of Development for Africa expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting Nigeria as a key market for their expansion strategy.
The project timeline aims to complete the Enyimba Hotel transformation within 24 months.
