Adeleke, Fasola hail Ooni for preserving Yoruba cultural heritage

The efforts of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, towards the preservation of Yoruba cultural heritage were praised by Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and ex-Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN).

This commendation came during events held in Ile-Ife, Osun State, to celebrate Oba Ogunwusi’s 50th birthday.

Fashola, speaking before commissioning Ojaja Cinema at Ife Grand Resort as part of the birthday activities, lauded Oba Ogunwusi as a significant figure for the Yoruba people. He highlighted the monarch’s dedication to uniting Oduduwa descendants worldwide.

“In the nine years of your reign on the Oduduwa throne, you have brought honor to our people. Your efforts in promoting unity among Oduduwa descendants globally are remarkable,” Fashola expressed.

Leading the cake-cutting ceremony, Adeleke, alongside other dignitaries, acknowledged Oba Ogunwusi’s commitment to the development of Nigeria and the welfare of the youth. He also praised the royal father for his work in promoting Yoruba culture.

During the commissioning of Ojaja Cinema, Oba Ogunwusi emphasized the untapped potential of Nigerian youth. He highlighted the importance of utilizing the entertainment industry, particularly cinema and films, to showcase Nigerian stories globally, create employment opportunities, boost the economy, and generate foreign exchange.
