The Libya National Team has regrouped to kick off their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Nigeria on October 11, 2025, at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo. The team had their first training session under the guidance of the new coaching staff in Tripoli. They are set to travel to Abuja on October 7 and then move to Uyo for the game against the Super Eagles.
On the other hand, Nigeria’s coach is yet to announce the squad for the upcoming games against Libya. The second leg of the doubleheader is scheduled for October 15 at Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi. Nigeria leads Group D with four points after a convincing win against Benin Republic and a draw with Rwanda. Libya is at the bottom of the group with one point, having drawn with Rwanda and lost to Benin Republic in their previous matches. Benin and Rwanda occupy the second and third positions in the group standings.
