The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency recently conducted a sensitization campaign to address Sexual and Gender-Based Violence within community development associations in Ikorodu Local Government Area. The Executive Secretary of DSVA emphasized the importance of reporting cases of abuse and highlighted the agency’s focus on domestic violence, child abuse, and rape. Educational materials were distributed to participants with a call for spreading awareness during general meetings. Over 8,000 individuals across various CDAs were reached during the campaign, including visits to Shamsideen Mosque. Notable officials from the community engaged with the team during the sensitization efforts. In a related development, the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation disclosed receiving 662 reports of domestic and sexual violence within a year, underscoring the ongoing efforts to combat such issues.
