The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has announced the dissolution of his cabinet, citing the need for fresh energy in his administration. The announcement was made during a valedictory session at the Executive Council chamber in Uyo, the state capital. The governor emphasized that the decision was not due to underperformance by any of the commissioners but rather a step to bring in new individuals to the administration. Eno commended the outgoing commissioners for their dedication and stated that the changes were necessary to usher in a new phase of progress. A valedictory dinner in honor of the outgoing cabinet members was scheduled to take place at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo. It was noted that most of the commissioners had served during the Udom Emmanuel administration for eight years.
