Alleged adultery: Kano arraigns Jigawa commissioner

The Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa State is set to appear in a Kano court today on allegations of infidelity, as confirmed by the Director-General of Hisbah Commission in Kano. The commissioner was reportedly apprehended by Kano Hisbah in the company of a married woman in an unfinished building. He has refuted the claims, labeling them as an attempt to smear his political career. To address the issue, the Jigawa State Governor has established a committee comprising five members to investigate the allegations. The committee, led by the Secretary to the State Government, is expected to deliver its findings within two weeks. The state government expressed serious concern over the allegations and the negative impact they have had on its reputation. As a precautionary measure, the Jigawa State government has suspended the commissioner to ensure a transparent investigation and uphold the integrity of the state administration.
