Amotekun intensifies patrols, deploys 2,000 personnel to secure region

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, has made significant strides in combating crime by apprehending 21 suspects involved in various criminal activities such as kidnapping, theft, and attempted murder within the state. The Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, announced the arrests at the corps’ headquarters in Akure.

Among the suspects, four were accused of kidnapping, five violated the anti-grazing law, and others were implicated in offenses like property destruction, conspiracy, and theft. Adeleye emphasized the corps’ dedication to preserving peace in the region and revealed that Amotekun units in the South-West have deployed 2,000 personnel to bolster security.

Adeleye highlighted the successful mediation efforts between herders and farmers to address conflicts arising from the anti-grazing law violations. He stressed the importance of herders respecting farmlands and farmers refraining from harming livestock to maintain harmony.

Furthermore, Adeleye noted the collaborative efforts of Amotekun units in the South-West, with Ondo State’s Amotekun Rangers actively patrolling forests to deter criminal activities. The Commander expressed gratitude to the public for providing crucial information and urged continued support in providing actionable intelligence to enhance security measures.
