The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, expressed confidence in his chances for reelection in the upcoming governorship election on November 8, 2025. He stated that he has not identified any strong contenders for the position, citing the general approval from Anambra residents regarding the performance of his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
During a media interaction marking his third year in office, Soludo emphasized the loyalty of Anambra voters to APGA in local and gubernatorial elections, despite potential variations in their choices during national elections.
When asked about potential challengers in the upcoming election, Soludo expressed uncertainty, indicating that he has not heard of any candidates or parties actively competing against him. He acknowledged the calls from the public for his reelection but emphasized that the decision ultimately lies with his party.
Reflecting on his initial intention to serve, Soludo mentioned his gratitude for the opportunity to contribute positively to the state and expressed his readiness to continue serving if nominated by his party and reelected by the people of Anambra.
It is noteworthy that Anambra is one of the states where governorship elections are conducted at separate times due to legal decisions.
