Anambra mob lynches revenue collectors

In a recent incident at Old Market Road, along Venn Road by Egerton Bus Stop in Onitsha, two revenue collectors from Anambra State Government were set on fire by an angry mob. The chaos unfolded when the revenue collectors caused a tipper driver to lose control of his vehicle and fatally hit a bystander. Eyewitnesses described how the revenue collectors were demanding payment from the driver, leading to a struggle over the steering wheel that resulted in the tragic accident. The mob retaliated by setting two of the revenue collectors on fire, while four others managed to escape. The Chairman of Anambra Tippers Drivers Association expressed frustration over the behavior of the revenue collectors towards their members. The police swiftly responded to the situation, working to bring it under control and investigate the incident further for a resolution.
