APC to Kwankwaso: Ask Kano Govt to account for FG’s truckloads of palliatives

The All Progressives Congress in Kano State has criticized the leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party for his remarks on the distribution of palliatives by the Federal Government. The APC Chairman in Kano, Abdullahi Abbas, expressed that the efforts to alleviate hunger are being hindered by the NNPP government in the state. He also disputed claims made by the NNPP leader regarding the distribution being solely managed by the APC.

Abbas highlighted the formation of a committee led by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, consisting of members from various political parties and groups to oversee the fair distribution of palliatives. The aim is to prevent diversion and ensure that the most vulnerable individuals receive the support.

The Federal Government’s decision to revamp the distribution method was influenced by President Tinubu’s dissatisfaction with previous practices. Abbas mentioned instances where palliatives were mismanaged within the NNPP government in Kano State, leading to investigations and arrests of individuals involved in diverting resources meant for the needy.

The APC Chairman urged the NNPP leader to address the mismanagement within his government and ensure accountability for the missing palliatives. He also criticized the quality of meals provided during a feeding program and discussed security appointments made by the President to maintain peace and security in Kano.

In response to Kwankwaso’s accusations of exclusion from palliative distributions, the APC emphasized the government’s commitment to fair allocation and dismissed claims of partisanship in the distribution process.
