A recent operation by troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Sambisa Forest, Borno State, led to the rescue of 75 civilians. The rescued individuals included seven adult males, 34 women, and 34 children. The operation, conducted by the 21 Special Armoured Brigade and the 199 Special Forces Battalion under Operation Desert Sanity IV, cleared key terrorist enclaves in the forest.
The Theatre Commander, represented by the Deputy Theatre Commander, highlighted the success of the offensive operations that neutralized insurgents, destroyed enemy facilities, and disrupted their capabilities. The rescued civilians have received necessary medical and psychological support and are being prepared for handover to the Borno State Government.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development commended the troops for their bravery and outlined the support and services that will be provided to the rescued individuals before their reintegration into society.
