Arrested kidnapper confesses to crime as Edo demolishes building

In Edo State, a suspected kidnapper, Oboh Odianosen, had his property demolished in the Edo Central Senatorial District as a consequence of his involvement in a kidnapping incident. The state’s Task Force against Kidnapping took action following Odianosen’s arrest and confession to receiving N800,000 from a N5 million ransom.

Odianosen admitted to his role in the abduction of a man in Ekpoma, revealing that he, along with five others, took the victim to a forest in Uromi where they held him for three days until his family paid the ransom. He mentioned using his share of N800,000 to settle debts but blamed a friend for revealing his identity.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Affairs, Paul Akhere, emphasized the government’s determination to combat kidnapping, warning perpetrators that they will be pursued relentlessly. The Task Force Commander, SP Michael Anetor, confirmed Odianosen’s confession and highlighted the enforcement of the law in such cases.

This demolition is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to tackle kidnapping, with four properties having been demolished so far as a stern message to those involved in criminal activities.
