Azerbaijan plane crash: Probe points to mid-air external attack

An airline plane crashed in Kazakhstan this week, and reports indicate it suffered external interference. The investigation suggests the aircraft may have been hit by a Russian air defence system. The crash resulted in the deaths of 38 out of 67 passengers on board. The incident occurred when the plane tried to land in Grozny but veered off course over the Caspian Sea.

According to statements from Azerbaijan and their transport minister, there was physical external interference that caused the crash. The type of weapon used needs to be identified. The airline has suspended flights to several Russian airports due to preliminary findings pointing to external interference as the cause of the crash.

The Russian aviation chief mentioned that Ukrainian drones were attacking Grozny when the crash happened. However, the Kremlin has not commented on the claims that Russian air defence missiles may have caused the accident.

The investigation is ongoing, and experts have noted shrapnel damage on the wreckage, suggesting the plane may have been struck by air defence systems. Ukrainian President Zelensky has called for a thorough investigation, implying Russian responsibility based on visual evidence.

A survivor of the crash described an explosion outside the plane during the landing attempt in Grozny. The Russian survivor reported shrapnel penetrating the fuselage, causing damage. The Azerbaijani President has promised a full investigation, while a member of the Azerbaijani parliament demanded an apology and compensation from Russia for the victims’ families.

The incident remains under investigation, and details are still emerging.
