Reports indicate that a group of individuals believed to be bandits launched an attack on the residence of the Chairman of Malumfashi Local Government Area in Katsina State. During the incident, a police officer, identified as Police Corporal Shamsudeen Lawal, was shot and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the unfortunate event, mentioning that three suspects have been apprehended in connection with the attack while investigations are ongoing.
Although details about other potential casualties are still unclear, security forces managed to prevent the assailants from gaining entry into the residence. An eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous, verified that the chairman and his family were present during the attack.
