The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Brig-Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed, emphasized the importance of security awareness among corps members serving in Zamfara State. He advised them to avoid unnecessary travel during their one-year national service.
Addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members at the temporary orientation camp in Gusau, Ahmed assured them of the NYSC’s commitment to their safety and well-being. He commended the peaceful atmosphere at the camp and emphasized the organization’s dedication to ensuring the security of all corps members.
Ahmed encouraged the corps members to participate actively in the skills acquisition program offered during the orientation course. He highlighted the significance of acquiring practical skills for self-employment post-service, especially in a job market where opportunities are limited.
The Director-General also stressed the importance of respecting the culture and religion of the host communities, reminding the corps members to adhere to NYSC regulations regarding their conduct and appearance. He urged them to take their primary assignments seriously to make the most of their mandatory service year.
State NYSC Coordinator, Lawan Ahmed, welcomed the DG’s visit to the camp and expressed gratitude for the NYSC’s continuous support in sustaining the scheme in the state.
