In the realm of fashion runways and show business, dreams of children showcasing designer outfits and young talents gracing the entertainment industry are often seen as ideal. However, a Lagos-based fashion and talent hunt show promoter is facing serious accusations from some parents.
A 30-year-old woman, referred to as Anike, shared a distressing experience alleging exploitation by the talent hunt agency. Anike’s excitement turned to despair after encountering hidden fees and inappropriate behavior by the agency’s founder.
Similar disturbing accounts emerged from other individuals, including a 14-year-old girl and a 26-year-old aspiring actor, who detailed instances of sexual harassment and financial exploitation by the show promoter.
Following investigations and reports to the authorities, the founder of the talent show was arrested, prompting more victims to come forward with allegations of misconduct.
Despite the grave accusations, the show promoter denied the claims, branding them as falsehoods aimed at undermining his business. He accused the accusers of seeking financial gain and portrayed himself as a victim of a smear campaign.
The ordeal has left parents of victims in fear, with some receiving threatening messages from the accused. The situation remains tense as legal proceedings unfold, shedding light on the dark side of the fashion and entertainment industry.
